We made it out past the fog in the bay and channel leading to the inlet today. The fog was pretty heavy but we were just able to stay in the channel to Barnegat Inlet. Once past the inlet it let up slighly and the seas were glassly smooth. We turned on the fog horn and headed South to some wrecks we have not been to before with my boat.
The first stop was the double East. This site is a broken up wooden barge or schooner with massive stone slabs scattered around the site. Bart managed a lobster and other than that we saw some smaller fish. Bottom temp was 47 and the vis was a great 30+.
Next we moved a short distance to another wreck where we had smilar bottom condtions. This steel wreck was inhabited by giant tog and everyone got their limit. We also managed to recover a very nice newer Delta anchor.
Last stop was a wooden wreck in only 50 ft or so of water. the bottom temp here was 56 and several fluke and lobster were taken. The vis here was ONLY 20+ ft.
Nice day on a very flat Lake Atlantic. We had no more than 2 ft seas all day. I wish it could be like that more often.
