Hey everyone! Signed up to njdive because I will be getting wet again after taking about 5 years off due to raising a family, kids will consume all or most of your time. I am a padi certified Dive Master, I can't tell you how many dives I have under my weight belt I stopped logging after 250 and that was a long time ago. Most of my dives being off the Jersey coast as close in as Western World or Pliny(inshore beach dives) out to the Texas Tower and everything in between. I have dove all around the caribbean, florida and Hawaii. I used to shoot video but got rid of my entire set-up but have a ton of footage that I need to convert from hi8 to dvd, another project on my list. When I was in college ealry 90's I worked for divers two in Avon so it all started there. I took all my gear out last week and found everything to be good to go except my DUI suit. When I had it custom fit I was in much better shape so it is too snug to get into so I will be looking to replace it with probably a used suit so if anyone knows or has a used suit please let me know. Hopefully I will be in the water this fall and once I get going I will report, in the meantime I will contribute and answer any questions where I feel I can help out.

Greetings and welcome back! I know the feeling myself, I started diving back in 1978 and then stopped around 1988 to raise a family and just got back into it several years ago.

Welcome! Your case sounds eerily familiar to mine. I got my cert in college in 1986 from some shop in Rhode Island. After college, I packed up my dive gear in the attic for 13 or so years, as I got married and had a kid. In 1999 or so, I was planning a trip to Turks & Caicos, but could't find my cert card (go figure, after 13 years and 5 moves, it vanishes). The shop I got certified in (The Gob Shop in Warren RI) closed, and I couldn't recall the agency that certified me even after a exhausting search. I went to T&C and took the whole course over again (very abreviated of course). I've been diving like mad ever since.
